Description:
"The Passage" is a site-specific installation which artist investigates the interplay between memory and the dynamics of human rights, set against the historical backdrop of the White Terror. Che constructs an immersive field that invites visitors to traverse a transformative passage, symbolically reconfiguring the mental and physical oppression imposed by Chiang Kai-shek’s dictatorship. Through this evocative space, the installation encourages a direct confrontation with historical trauma, prompting audiences to reflect on the enduring impacts of authoritarianism and the resilience of collective memory.
